Why Prep Retention

What makes Prep Retention different

Built for the Hawaii Life and Accident & Health exams around one idea: you should know exactly why every answer is right.

  • Built for the exam you will actually take

Every practice exam here follows the Pearson VUE Hawaii outlines effective January 1, 2026: 50 general questions and 35 on Hawaii law, with the same section weights as the real exam.

  • The law quoted in every answer

Every paid question quotes the statute or source it comes from, with a link to read it yourself.

  • All four choices explained

Some practice tests only tell you right or wrong. Here, every question explains why each choice is right or wrong, including every Hawaii law question.

  • Hear any question read aloud

Every question and its answer choices can be read aloud with one tap in most browsers. Good for learning on the go or if you study better by listening.

  • One price, everything included

$54.99 per exam or $79.99 for both. One-time payment, no subscription. All seven study tools come with every package. No higher tier to unlock more tools.

  • 180 days to study

Your access lasts 180 days from the day you buy, so a slow start or a second try at the exam still fits inside your access.

  • Missed questions come back

Questions you get wrong return on later days until you get them right in separate review sessions, so weak spots do not stay weak.

What you get

Seven study tools for the Hawaii Life and A&H exams

They work together: practice exams find your gaps, quizzes, flashcards and the study guide fill them, and the review queue brings back what you missed. Every screen below is the real Hawaii product.

Tool 01

Full-length exam simulators

Sit a complete practice exam before you sit the real one. 85 questions in the same topic mix as the Pearson content outline: 50 general and 35 on Hawaii law. Timed at 120 minutes, the 75 plus 45 minutes Pearson's Hawaii handbook lists for the two parts of each exam, with no hints until you submit.

  • Section simulators for just the general part or just Hawaii law
  • A weak-spot simulator built from your three weakest topics
  • Flag questions and change answers until you submit
  • Standard time, 1.5 times, 2 times or untimed
A Hawaii practice exam in progress: question 12 of 85, with a running timer and one choice selected.

Tool 02

Topic mini quizzes

Ten questions on one topic when you only have ten minutes. Every topic in the exam outline has its own quiz, from types of life policies to Hawaii accident and health laws. Untimed, with full explanations after you submit.

  • One quiz for every outline topic in your exam
  • Good for a lunch break or the train
  • Results feed your readiness and weak spots
The mini quiz list on the Hawaii dashboard, one card per exam topic including Hawaii laws for both exams and Hawaii life insurance laws, each with a Start quiz button.

Tool 03

Flashcards built from the question bank

Cards that come from the same sourced questions you practice. Each card shows the concept and a question on the front. Turn it over for the answer, a short reason and the source it comes from.

  • Built automatically for every topic, nothing to make yourself
  • Mark a card "I know this" or "Still learning"
  • Known cards move to the back of the deck, so you still see them again
A flashcard turned over, showing the answer, the reason and a quoted source passage.

Tool 04

Study guide with the quoted law

Every topic of the exam outline on one page, with the law behind it. The study guide is built from the same sourced questions: for each topic it lists the key concepts with the quoted statute, regulation or official source, its citation and a link to read it in full.

  • One guide for every outline section of your exam
  • Grouped by topic, each source listed once
  • Sits next to the flashcards on your dashboard
The study guide for Hawaii life insurance laws: a key point with the quoted Hawaii law, its citation and a link.

Tool 05

Due today review

The questions you missed come back until they stick. Miss a question in any practice test and it returns on a later day. It keeps coming back until you get it right in three separate review sessions.

  • Your dashboard says how many questions are due today
  • One click starts a short review session
  • Finished questions drop out on their own
The Due today panel showing missed questions ready for review and a Review now button.

Tool 06

Every question is directly sourced

It's the fastest way to make it stick: answer the question, then see exactly why, straight from the law.

See why each answer is right, and check the law yourself. After you submit, every question shows the correct answer, why each choice is right or wrong, and a quoted passage from the statute, regulation or official source, with a link to read it in full.

  • An explanation for all four choices, not just the right one
  • The quoted passage sits next to the answer it supports
  • Report a problem button on every question
A results card: the chosen answer marked Incorrect, the correct answer marked Correct, explanations for each choice and a source box with the quoted law.

Tool 07

Readiness tracking

Know which topics are holding you back. Your answers roll up into scores by topic and a readiness estimate weighted like the exam outline, compared with a 70% target. The real exam's passing score of 70 is not the same as getting 70% of the questions right, so this is an estimate from your practice, not a prediction of your real score.

  • Scores and status for every outline topic
  • Your weakest topics listed in order
  • A history of every test you have taken
The readiness panel showing a readiness percentage compared with the passing mark.
