The question counts come from the September 15, 2026 content outlines. The test time, passing score and fee come from the candidate handbook. Its exam table shows the test time as "120" and does not print the unit; we read it as minutes. The handbook says "the passing score for all examinations is reported as a score of 70" and that scores "should not be interpreted as the percentage or number of correct answers." Each exam has a general part and a state part. If you pass one part and fail the other, you retake the entire exam.

Pearson also offers a combined Life, Accident and Health exam with 130 scored questions. Our practice exams follow the two separate exams above.

Results and retakes

Your score report says pass or fail. A failing report also shows a numeric score and diagnostic information on the general part. You can retake 24 hours after your last attempt, with a new exam fee, and each exam may be taken only six times in a one-year period. Passing results are valid for one year.

Do I need a pre-licensing course in South Carolina?

South Carolina's producer licensing law (S.C. Code Title 38, Chapter 43) does not list one for Life or Accident and Health. The license requirements in S.C. Code 38-43-100(F) are being at least 18, good moral character, paying the fees, passing the exam and fingerprints for a background check.
