How to get a life and health insurance license in Hawaii

The steps to become a licensed life or accident and health insurance producer in Hawaii, from Pearson VUE's Hawaii candidate handbook, the Hawaii Insurance Division and the Hawaii Revised Statutes.
The steps
- Study for the exam. Each exam has 50 general questions and 35 on Hawaii law. No pre-licensing course is required. See the exam guide.
- Schedule and pass the exam with Pearson VUE. Test at a Pearson VUE test center or online with OnVUE.
- Apply for the license within two years. HRS 431:9A-105(d) says exam scores are valid for two years from the date of the exam.
