Pennsylvania unfair insurance practices practice questions

Last updated

Both Pennsylvania PSI exams, Life (16-01) and Accident and Health (16-02), list "Unfair insurance practices" and "Unfair claims settlement practices" in section 1.0 Insurance Regulation. [1] The outlines point to the Unfair Insurance Practices Act, twisting under the Insurance Company Law, and the claims rules in 31 Pa. Code Chapter 146. [1] This page sums up those rules and gives 12 practice questions.

What the Unfair Insurance Practices Act covers

Section 5(a) of the act defines unfair methods of competition and unfair or deceptive acts. On the exam, these are the ones most tied to selling life and health coverage: [2]
